The Greater Louisville Council of the Blind is a chapter of the Kentucky Council of the Blind. GLCB has blind, visually impaired, and sighted members in Jefferson and Oldham counties and throughout the metropolitan Louisville area.
The Greater Louisville Council of the Blind works for equality and independence for all people with vision loss. GLCB advocates for quality education for blind children and youth, expanded training and job opportunities for visually impaired adults, improved services for seniors over age 60 who are just losing their vision, and better public transportation for people who cannot drive.

GLCB encourages people who are just losing their vision to participate in community meetings and activities that provide peer support. Family members are also encouraged to attend so they can learn about blindness and visual impairment and discover how people with vision loss handle activities of daily living.
